Treasurer Derek Philps pulled in the plaudits this year, with the winning entry and another in the top six.
The winner of last year's technical Section, Sidney Wood, gave
Derek a good run for his money to take second place. Only one percentage point separated these two.
Third went to Jim Focht from
California, who also did well two years ago, with an arresting picture of what used to be his local coastline. Fourth went to Neil Daglish
of New Zealand, appearing here for the first time. Fifth was another black-and-white image from Derek Philps, and last year's
overpowering winner Mark Stuecheli of Kansas City came home in sixth, sharing the honour with another Jim Focht extravaganza.
One can't believe that Jim used to live here and moved away!

The competition was less well contested than last year, only three other members taking part, for a
total of 24 images displayed at the AGM. Those ranked by the judges as Nos. 6 to 11 fell in a spread of only
three percentage points, so it's fair to say that they were all equally good. We show all of them on this page,
and also the best entry from the sixth competitor. Our thanks go the members attending the AGM who acted as judges;
competitors please keep
them on their toes next year!
