Mark writes: This shot was taken in my backyard garden. It actually was a mistake. I took the shot late in the day but neglected to lower the shutter speed. The result was a shot that was three stops underexposed, for the background foliage. The flower petals came out quite nicely and seem to have a glow when seen against the dark foliage. The next shot I took, at the "proper" exposure, was very ordinary
