Mark Stuecheli, Kansas City: Wildflowers near Old Faithful
Meyer Domiplan 2.8/50 on VX1000 Version 1, No 1142803;
exposed at f/8 1/500th on Fujicolor Superia 200

Mark writes:This is a shot of wildflowers that I took within about 200 yards of the Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park. We were midway through our two-week trip across much of the American West. Shortly after sunrise, my son and I hiked along a trail to a spot about 300 feet above the geyser, and waited patiently for it to erupt. We finally caught the short eruption, which was about 20 minutes late, and headed back down the trail. Near the bottom I happened upon the wildflowers. At first I shot a group that was front-lighted. As I turned to head back to the trail, I noticed this smaller backlit bunch with a nice dark boulder as a backdrop.
