The Souvenir Catalogue

The catalogue is a 140-page perfect-bound document, with a small amount of colour printing on fold-out sheets at the back. The first part is taken up by Don Baldwin's account of the general development of Ihagee cameras in the context of their competition, illustrated by a black-and-white photograph of every camera in the TimeLine display: about 40 Ihagee cameras and more than twice as many from other manufacturers. Some indication is given of relative costs and the equivalents today. This text is an expansion of the notes that will appear on the backing boards to the display, and is given in English only.

Please notice that this text will in no way compete with Peter Longden's forthcoming monograph on the history of Ihagee, which we look forward to advertising on this website when it is published.

In the second part of the catalogue appear the texts and associated images of the three main talks to be given at the Convention:

Svend Erik Jeppesen: Ihagee and Exakta Filters
Harry Kormeling: A Nameless Camera called Parvola
Michel Rouah: The Vera Supplementary Lens Set

These texts appear in English, French and German. The images are printed in colour on fold-out pages at the back of the book, so that they may be easily accessed no matter which language is being read.

Chapter 8 of Exakta Collection

The book Exakta Collection by our members Clément Aguila and Michel Rouah, published in French in 2003, has rightly become the standard reference work on the Exakta, the Exa and their associated lenses and accessories. Unfortunately, no English translation is available. It was suggested to your Editor some time ago that if he were to turn his attention to one part of the book rather than another, it might be of most value to collectors if he could offer a translation of the very long Chapter 8, Lenses for 35mm Exakta and Exa. This document is the result of that work, which Clément and Michel have most generously allowed us to print and publish. Michel has provided some corrections to the text, and a few new images to add to the existing 350-odd.

This will be a perfect-bound document of approximately 160 A4 pages, and will be sold at a price of £15, with post and packing extra at cost. We cannot afford to give this away as well as the Catalogue!

The text of this document is of course in English only, and all the illustrations are reproduced in black-and-white.

We offer three different ways to pay:

  • Cash in UK notes, handed to us at Oxford

  • Sterling cheque or British Postal Order, made payable to Elizabeth Spencer and sent to her home address:
27 James St, Pittenweem, Fife KY10 2QN. Don't forget to provide a shipping address!
We regret that Eurocheques and overseas postal orders are not acceptable.
Orders must be received by Elizabeth by 6 June 2008

  • Electronic transfer by PayPal. We can accept payments in

    • Sterling and euros

    • US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars

    • the national currencies of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Switzerland

Conversions to sterling are performed automatically.

If you can, please use one of these PayPal buttons to make payment. You don't need to have established a PayPal account to do this, but you do need an e-mail address and a credit card. (Further details of how to use PayPal without a PayPal account are here.) You will be asked to provide details of your credit or debit card over a secure link to PayPal (not to the Exakta Circle or Elizabeth Spencer). You can use Visa, Delta, Electron, MasterCard, Switch/Maestro, Solo or American Express (not AmEx Corporate). Otherwise, please send us a sterling cheque for the appropriate amount, made payable to Elizabeth Spencer at this address: 27 James Street, Pittenweem, Fife KY10 2QN.
