Subscriptions and Methods of Payment

Subscriptions are due on 1 April each year.

For the year 2008-09, two rates are available, allowing members to receive Exakta Times either with or without colour printing (the text is the same in either case):

• With four-page colour insert:

  • UK members £23

  • Overseas members £25

• Without colour insert:

  • UK members £18

  • Overseas members £20

Members who have not renewed their subscription by 20 May will be deemed to have opted for black and white.
Members who have not renewed their subscription by 31 July will be deemed to have resigned.

The Circle offers members and would-be members three different ways to pay:

• Cash in UK notes

• Sterling cheque or British Postal Order, made payable to "Exakta Circle."  We regret that Eurocheques and overseas postal orders are not acceptable

• Electronic transfer by PayPal. We can accept payments in

  • Sterling and euros

  • US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars

  • the national currencies of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Switzerland

  • Hong Kong and Singaporean dollars and Japanese yen

  Conversions to sterling are performed automatically.  You can use Visa, Delta, Electron, MasterCard, Switch/Maestro, Solo or American Express (not AmEx Corporate). You must have an e-mail address

Applicants should follow this procedure:

To use PayPal to enter a one-year subscription, click on the appropriate button. If you are a new member, don't forget to provide your postal address to PayPal so that you can receive Exakta Times!
You will be reminded by e-mail towards the end of March 2009, when your subscription is about to expire.

If you choose this method, payments can be made whether or not you have a PayPal account: if not, you will be asked to provide details of your credit or debit card over a secure link to PayPal (not to the Exakta Circle).

To ensure that very late payments are not repeated year upon year, the facility for taking out a regular annual subscription has been temporarily terminated. It will be reinstated at the beginning of March next year.

Otherwise:

• download and print out the Membership Form from this website
  (a link to the Membership Form is provided at the bottom of this page, in the hope that you will read the rest of the instructions before downloading!); or

• use the Form supplied with the Spring Issue of Exakta Times every year; and then
  
  

• fill in the personal details in the Form

• tick the boxes against the amount and chosen method of payment

• send the Form, with remittance enclosed, by ordinary mail to the Secretary at the address shown on the Form

Data protection and Privacy policy

In filling in the Subscription Form and in using the interactive facilities on this website, applicants are requested to give their name, postal and e-mail addresses and telephone number. This data will be published in Exakta Times. Provision is made on the Forms, and on the return page from PayPal, for applicants to suppress any or all of this information (except the name) if they do not want it made common knowledge. Suppression will continue until the member explicitly instructs the Secretary otherwise.
   This procedure fulfils the requirements of the Data Protection Act (1988).
   Your details will never be used by the Exakta Circle for any commercial purpose.

Welcome pack

After the Exakta Circle has processed your application, a membership card for the current year will be forwarded by post. This card constitutes your receipt. New Members will at the same time receive a Welcome Pack, containing a badge, the Rules of the Circle, the PCCGB Code of Condition (used to describe cameras offered for sale), and the latest copy of Exakta Times.
